About us
Naturus — Nat, to her many friends on-line — is Polly Qiu Dampier, a Canadian citizen born and raised in Shanghai who now lives and works in Toronto.
Nat completed her first undergraduate degree in China and her second, a Bachelor of Commerce, at Ryerson University in Toronto. Her education in the markets began in 1992, when she was working as a business consultant to international trading companies in China and Canada, and spending most of her free time studying financial markets.
She has been professionally involved with the financial markets since 2000, when she focused on trading the S&P 500 futures and established herself as a very successful trader.
About Nat's methods
Nat earned her education in the markets the hard way, by trial and error, including some errors that almost wiped her out. Over the course of several painful years she developed her own trading methods, based on classical technical analysis, but informed by careful observation of the day-by-day movement of prices in the market.
She is a discretionary trader, which means she responds to price movements as they occur, and uses her wide experience to anticipate what the next moves will be. Her methods are entirely pragmatic and remarkably successful. As one of her long-time students says: "Nobody can call the zigs and zags of the market like Nat."
Nat's trading is very short term. She never holds any position over-night, with the exception of options, and may make anywhere from 5-10 scalping calls during the day.
Her trading system uses many of the conventional tools of technical analysis, including pattern recognition, Fibonacci calculations, Elliott wave, Taylor’s LSS method, Murrey Math and others. But she applies them in ways that are not common, especially in such short time frames.
Today she shares that expertise with traders around the world through a subscription-only chat room where she gives active day-traders real-time market analysis and interpretation of price movements. She has been helping traders in her room almost every trading day since 2005.
Nat's trading system is complex, and requires active participation from traders. But it provides remarkably accurate short-term calls on intra-day reversals and continuations in the S&P e-mini market.
